So I've been a huge nerd most of my life. My dad is really into comics and I fell in love with them as a child and that carried through to today. My brother was a big video gamer and I still remember my very first video game, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. To this day I don't understand why my parents let me play that game despite never letting me play with toy guns or even water guns really.
There's technically two parts to this website. There's the D&D part and the The Chronicles part. So I'll do a little blurb about both.
The Chronicles (Coming Soon):
The Regent's Daughter and the larger series The Chronicles was born out of a need to correct something that I see as a gross oversight and a missed opportunity. Growing up, and even now as an adult, I loved reading stories about magic in the modern times such as Artemis Fowl, Shadowhunters, and Harry Potter. They filled me with wonder and awe and always had me begging for more once I had finished one book.
However when I got older and started to come into my own as a writer something bothered me. All three of these books hid the existence magic from the rest of the world. By keeping the two worlds separate I felt these authors were missing out on a world of opportunities to explore new stories and new possibilities so one day I decided to join the numerous other authors that shared my ideology and fix what I saw was a problem.
The missed opportunities in not mixing the mundane and the magical are not the only reasons I am creating this series. My college career and both my majors [Public Relations/ Creative Writing] are heavily entrenched in social activism and as such I wanted to create a diverse series so that people that are on the fringes of society would be able to see themselves in fantastical stories. So often we are told, "if you want to see something stop demanding others to do it and do it yourself." I've been lucky enough that I have the talent to do so.
Dungeons and Discussions:
Okay so I am relatively new to D&D. I've only been playing for about 2 - 3 years but the first time I played I fell in love and never looked back. However it wasn't until midway through 2019 that I started being interested in not only reviewing DMsGuild products, but potentially publishing my own. Between those endeavors my time is spent running a campaign for my players and modding 5e to do whatever the hell I want it to.
